While there has been upheaval in some sectors as a result of the economic situation, Gemini has a number of active clients looking for high calibre executives. Our clients still respect the importance of taking care to make appropriate hiring choices to see them through this current cycle.

There is general optimism in the Construction Sector, particularly with several major infrastructure projects coming on stream. MTRC have several railway projects which require staff, and development continues on projects such as Ocean Park, and looking ahead we will see work beginning on re development of kai tak, the Cruise Ship Terminal and the planning for West Kowloon. Gemini is also active in sourcing staff involved in the investment side of property.

In manufacturing we have seen a decline in the number of manufacturing positions in Southern Guangdong, but demand still remains strong for experienced managers to work in China, often in the more challenging regions.

Demand for legal staff has declined in recent months, with tightening of belts evident in some practices. Nevertheless Gemini continues to identify key talent for Law firms.

The Insurance sector is re positioning itself and we are receiving an increasing number of enquiries. Demand is particularly heavy for Compliance roles.

An important service offered by Gemini is helping qualified candidates to find employment. We have both an in house Interim Management business based in Shanghai and also offer outplacement services for staff in Hong Kong.
